Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has axed a highly profiled midfielder Memphis Depay from Manchester United's FA Cup final squad.
Memphis, who has endured a dismal debut season at United following his £25million move from PSV Eindhoven, was not with the United squad that boarded a train to London on Friday ahead of today’s final with Crystal Palace.
Although the midfielder arrived at United's AON Training Complex today and trained with the rest of the squad as normal, eyewitnesses say he was not included in the travelling party.
A spokeswoman for United, who was travelling with the squad on the train to the capital, was unable to say whether or not Memphis had boarded with the rest of Van Gaal's players.
Defenders Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Tim Fosu-Mensah are also understood to have not been in the travelling squad, which left from Stockport station just after 3pm.

However, Memphis is the most high-profile omission, the 22-year-old having fallen out of favour at United after a bright start to his Old Trafford career.
He has not scored a Premier League goal since November 25 in a 2-1 win at Watford and has seen his attitude called into question after losing his place in the United line-up.
