Gunners favourites to land Bayer Leverkusen star

Arsenal are the favourites to land the signature of Lars Bender, according to reports.

It was revealed by the Standard earlier in the week that Bender was on Arsene Wenger's radar as a potential signing over the coming couple of months.

His name was touted alongside that of Sevilla’s Poland international Grzegorz Krychowiak and Sporting Lisbon’s William Carvalho.

But it is now thought that interest in Bender is hotting up and the Gunners are in pole position to prise him away from Bayer Leverkusen in January.
