Madrid-based sports daily AS are today reporting that Arsenal have shown an interest in signing 24-year-old Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev.

The wide forward is one of Russia's great hopes ahead of their 2018 World Cup at home, and impressed last season on loan at Villarreal. He returned to Real Madrid this summer and, despite there being a clamour for him to stay at the Bernabeu, AS claim Real Madrid are willing to listen to offers for him and that anything north of around £15m should be enough to convince them to sell.

Liverpool were linked earlier in the summer, while Villarreal would like to have him back but would struggle to find the cash to fund that sort of fee.
