According to reports in Spain, Barcelona could move for Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen this summer.

Barca have been heavily linked with Monaco's Aymen Abdennour and remain confident of landing him.

However, should Monaco decide to keep the Tunisian - or he want to stay put - they want to have Vertonghen ready.

His countryman Thomas Vermaelen joined Barca last summer but injuries hindered his first season and Luis Enrique isn't sure if he will ever re-find his best form.

Now SPORT claims that he wants a new left-sided centre-back and Abdennour and Vertonghen are at the top of his wishlist.
