Crystal Palace have slapped a whopping £25million price tag on Yannick Bolasie - leaving Tottenham to consider bids for other wingers.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has prioritised the signing of a wideman before the start of the season and Congolese international Bolasie is top of his list.
Bolasie, 26, is believed to be keen on a switch across London but Palace are in no mood to sell and will play hardball if Spurs make an official bid.
Palace co-chairman Steve Parish and his board are determined to back manager Alan Pardew after making the marquee signing of Yohan Cabaye and sealing a season-long loan deal for Chelsea's England Under-21 striker Patrick Bamford.
So unless Spurs are willing to pay a huge fee for Bolasie, they will have to look elsewhere - with Manchester United winger Ashley Young on their radar.

The winger's future at Old Trafford uncertain as he has yet to agree a new deal but Young, 30, is on around £110,000 per week at United and would have to take a pay cut to move to White Hart Lane.
Spurs are likely to sell either Aaron Lennon, wanted by Everton, or Aston Villa target Andros Townsend before the transfer window shuts next month - but only if they bring in a new recruit.
