Christian Benteke would rather sign for Liverpool than Tottenham, according to the London Evening Standard.

Benteke reportedly doesn't want to join Spurs due to the way the club conducted itself when they tried to sign him from Aston Villa two summers ago.

The Belgian striker was under the impression that Tottenham were about to offer £25m for him in 2013 and subsequently handed in a transfer request.

However, no offer arrived and Benteke was left red-faced after handing in the request for no reason.
