Sergio Ramos will not move to Manchester United.

That is according to the Spaniard's mother - who has cast doubt over the move today.

Channeling her inner Harry Redknapp by being interviewed through her car window in Spain, Ramos' mother, when asked whether she would like to stay in Madrid, said: "Of course. Madrid has everything."

And Manchester? "No. I don't think we have to go. He loves Spain."

Well, that's that then.

The defender's mother is unlikely to put off United in their pursuit - as they ponder another bid having had a €40million offer rejected.

Negotiations are set to continue, with Real Madrid not budging in their hunt for United goalkeeper David De Gea.

Ramos has spent 10 years at the Bernabeu - but has told the Real hierarchy he wants to move to Old Trafford.
