Louis Van Gaal is ready to turn his attentions to Seamus Coleman as his search for a right-back was hit by another setback last week.
The Manchester United boss has seen two potential targets slip away as his squad rebuilding crawls along this summer.
Dani Alves has agreed a new two-year deal to remain at Barcelona, while Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne is putting the finishing touches on a £12.5million move to Liverpool.
That leaves Coleman as the next name on the Dutchman’s hit-list – and the Everton player’s camp are bracing ¬themselves for a call from Old Trafford.
