The stage is set for Real Madrid to present a new signing on Friday, with the club closing in on David De Gea.

Manchester United are understood to have rejected an initial offer for the Spaniard but he is keen to join the Liga giants.

The Bernabeu club have erected a presentation platform and closed the stadium for tours on Friday afternoon, hinting at a new arrival being shown off to the world.

Spanish reports suggest it could be De Gea's official confirmation, but with Manchester United reluctant there remains the possibility of Danilo being presented, although the former Porto full-back is currently injured and on holiday.

Youngster Marco Asensio, bought from Mallorca, could be a low-key but unlikely candidate to be presented.

Real Madrid have further irked United by reportedly joining the chase for defender Nicolas Otamendi.
