Morgan Schneiderlin has ruled out a move to Tottenham and paved the way for a summer switch to north London neighbours Arsenal.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino remains keen on signing Schneiderlin after narrowly failing to land the Southampton ace last August.

But £25m-rated Schneiderlin says he will not leave St Mary’s for a club outside the Champions League.

France World Cup star Schneiderlin, 25, said: “I think my decision is made. If I leave Southampton it is for a club that plays better than Europa League.

“The Champions League is my goal and if I leave Southampton it will be for a club in the Champions League.

“I have to give myself every chance of playing in the European Championships next year.”

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been tracking Schneiderlin since last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

Schneiderlin is also attracting interest from European giants Juventus and Paris St Germain.

But the midfielder said: “The goal is to stay in England. I know the league and it is a lot of fun.”

Schneiderlin has been with Saints since he was a teenager and has been offered a bumper new £60,000 a-week deal to stay.

He said: “I have two years left on my contract. If a club pays the right amount of money it will be time to leave.

“It will not be a small amount because Southampton are a good seller club, the price should be high enough.”
