Manchester United have been given the all-clear to sign Axel Witsel - if the Red Devils want him, according to reports.

The midfielder is ready to leave Zenit St Petersburg after three years of playing in Russia and Witsel is known to be a big admirer of United.

His father Thierry said: "Axel has never regretted his move from Benfica to Zenit, but three years St. Petersburg has been enough.

‘We hope to leave in style with a title in our pockets. For the moment Zenit have an eight-point advantage over second place."
