Manchester United player to join Arsenal

Arsenal have been encouraged to sign Jonny Evans from Manchester United this summer, according to reports.

The Irish defender's time at Old Trafford could be coming to an close at the end of the season, with Mats Hummels widely expected to be brought into the team.

Arsenal are looking to bolster their squad for next season after a torrid season with injury troubles and they believe that the experienced defender could the answer.

Danny Welbeck made the controversial move from United to Arsenal last summer and Evans could be the next name to follow suit.
