Marouane Fellaini has revealed he thought he was going to leave Manchester United following his disastrous first season with the club.
The former Everton man struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford following his big money move in 2013 and was often the scapegoat during a woeful season for the Red Devils.
His less glamorous playing style didn't fit in with United's mantra and he was often seen as everything wrong with David Moyes' doomed reign.
This season has been a whole different story for the Belgian, however. He has nailed down a first-team spot and was the focus of Chelsea's entire week of training ahead of United's trip to Stamford Bridge last weekend.

It's been quite a turnaround for the Belgian, but rewind 12 months and it could have been a whole different story.
Asked by the Daily Mail whether he ever thought he would leave United, he responded: "Yes.
"But I have a contract. I talked with the new manager and he told me I have to show him, prove to him. I accept that."
The 27-year-old also felt the criticism he received was unjustified - especially following the five successful years he spent at Everton.
"I had played five years in England and every season I played very well for Everton," he added. "Then, for one year, I lost my football, I lost my quality, I lost everything. Bull****.
"That's my opinion. And now my quality has come back. But that's not right, that's not right."
