David de Gea left embarrassed after premature celebration

We've all done it. Your team has a shot, the net ripples, you jump for joy and cheer a goal… and then realise it's actually hit the side netting.

It's embarrassing enough when it's just you in your living room. It's pretty humiliating when it happens at a game and the opposition fans all make that noise the doctor asks for when he's checking your tonsils.

But when you're the Manchester United goalkeeper playing against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge… well, then you can feel seriously stupid.

De Gea was pictured pumping his fists in delight and screaming ‘Vamos!’ towards the away end, only for the Spaniard to quickly realise that the shot from Rooney had not actually gone in. A rather embarrassing moment.
