A study has found that Chelsea's Eden Hazard and Arsenal's Mesut Ozil are the joint best performing attacking midfielders in Europe.

In recent days the German playmaker has been criticized for his performance at Emirates but these stats tell a different story, he is playing his best football at Arsenal.

Özil believes he will one day be crowned the world’s best player – and says rough treatment from opponents in England is making him a stronger athlete.

Elsewhere, they found that Lionel Messi is the best forward in 2015 – while Cristiano Ronaldo is only 29th on a list of top attackers.

David Silva and Santi Cazorla are the only other representatives from the Premier League, while the likes of Kevin de Bruyne and former Manchester United midfielder Shinji Kagawa also feature.
