Manchester United outcast Nani set to return to Old Trafford because his loan club Sporting Lisbon will not be able to pay his wages next season, according to The Metro.

Nani, who signed a five-year contract extension at Old Trafford in 2013, has scored 11 goals in 30 appearances for Sporting this season, and the Portuguese side were reportedly keen on signing him permanently for next season.

Reports in Portugal say that Sporting will not be able to satisfy his £3.6 million per year demands, although the Primeira Liga side would love to keep Nani.

It remains to be seen where the 28-year-old will play his football next season, as the winger has a number of years left on his current contract with United.
