Football: Simba’s Donald Mosoti joins Tusker

Former Gor Mahia defender Donald Mosoti has signed a two-year deal with Tusker.
The player fell out with Tanzanian giants Simba over contract disagreement in a move that forced him to return home.
He has been training with Tusker for the last two months and coach Francis Kimanzi has confirmed they have signed him.
“We have given him a two-year contract and expect he will be a great influence in the team,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Kenyan Premier League’s (KPL) governing council meets again today as debate over the expansion of the top league continues.

Top KPL officials arrived home on Wednesday evening from a meeting with broadcast sponsors SuperSport in South Africa on the possibility of extending the contract, which has one year to go.
KPL Chief Executive Jack Oguda (pictured) said today’s meeting is the final one for the year and they will use it to brief their members on what transpired in South Africa.
“The meeting with SuperSport was aimed at looking at our relationship with them over the years. We did not discuss anything to do with the extension of the contract but all I can say is that our sponsors are concerned about the uncertainty over the expansion of the league,” he said.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Coast Province executive member Mohammed Omar joined the debate claiming that the league company has lost its status of managing the competition by failing to change its name to FKF Premier League.
“The revised 2012 FKF Constitution required bodies to undergo democratic elections of their officials and submit their respective constitution to FKF before being admitted as members and in this regard KPL has defiantly not done so thereby losing their status to manage the competition,” he argued in an opinion piece.
Omar further accused KPL of using the federation’s rights to benefit yet they do not want to be under their jurisdiction.
“Article 77 of the FKF Constitution says the federation are the original owners of all the rights emanating from all competitions without any restrictions as to content, time, place and law,” said Omar.
