Eibar fans chanted ‘son of a ****’ towards Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo

You would think Cristiano Ronaldo was used to opposing fans giving him stick. Judging by his reaction against Eibar at the weekend, apparently not

Being the world's best player brings its own set of challenges. Massive pressure, high expectations… and relentless abuse from the fans of every team you play against.

Given that he's been one of the two best players on the planet for several years, you'd think Cristiano Ronaldo would be accustomed to the stick aimed at him from the stands. It should be like water off a duck's back to him by now.

But apparently, Ronnie is still a bit of a delicate flower. Towards the end of Real Madrid's 4-0 win at Eibar on Saturday, Ronaldo was substituted. A well-earned rest after yet another brace.

He should have been happy. Instead, because the Eibar fans started chanting 'tonto' - which means loser or jerk - as he left the field, the Ballon D'Or winner gave them a sarcastic round of applause.

That wasn't too bad. But once he was in the dugout, the Eibar supporters started chanting, 'What a son of a b*tch, that Portuguese', and Ronnie looked like he was about to start crying.

They're just jealous, Cristiano.
