Experimental marketing company EXP and the Kenya Universities Sports Association (KUSA) on Monday partnered to launch a university rugby 7s tournament dubbed Kings of Rugby. It will be held on November 29. The first ever All-University rugby tournament in Kenya will be an annual event. It will be held at the RFUEA Ground, Ngong’ Road and will bring together 12 universities. The winners will pocket Sh150,000 and runners-up Sh75,000. The draw done on Monday saw Strathmore Leos drawn in Pool A, the University of Nairobi’s Mean Machine in Pool B with Kenyatta University, in Pool C.
RUGBY: Shujaa name 17 for CAR tournament
The Kenya Rugby Union has named a 17-man provisional Shujaa squad for the CAR Sevens taking place in Harare on November 29-30.
The side, training under former Sevens vice captain Gibson Weru, will be whittled down to 12. Squad: M Owillah, P Owuor, C Odhiambo (Top Fry), J Ojee, B Omondi, P Kilonzo, B Isabwa (KCB), A Olaba, C Ooko, T Onyango, S Motari( Strathmore Leos), B Wandera (Quins), O Dennis (Nondies), S Onsomu (Impala S), S Ahmed (Mwamba), D Chenge (Western Bulls), H Mulama (Homeboyz).
