Police have dropped their investigation into Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli after he allegedly ‘threatened’ one of his mum’s neighbours for taking pictures of his car.

A row erupted outside the Reds striker's mum's home after he parked his Ferrari F12 Berlinetta on Pewsey Road, report the Liverpool Echo.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) were called to the scene just after 3pm on Thursday afternoon after a number of nearby residents came out of their houses to start taking pictures of his car, which the madcap star is said to have taken exception to.

One woman called police to say the Italian had walked over to her and got ‘threateningly close’ and demanded she stop taking photographs.

But the complainant has now spoken to GMP and the force claim no crime was recorded.

The woman said: “I hadn’t even taken any pictures. He came and looked through the front window, he was wearing a black beanie hat and he gave me a bit of a fright.

“Then when I came to the door he was getting right near me and pointing in my face saying ‘you took pictures of my car’ and I kept telling him ‘I didn’t, I didn’t’.

“Then he said, ‘if you do anything with them, I’ll come back, I’m warning you’, which to me was a direct threat. I don’t care who he is I won’t be threatened like that by anyone, he’s a big guy and it was very frightening.”

GMP released a statement this morning saying: “Police were called to Pewsey Road, Wythenshawe just after 3pm on Thursday, October 23, following reports of threatening behaviour.

Officers have since spoken to the complainant and no criminal offences were disclosed and no crime recorded. No further action will be taken.”
