Swimming: Aga Khan Academy dominate Coast age group gala

Swimmers from Aga Khan Academy, Mombasa triumphed in most races during the Coast Age Group swimming championships at the weekend.

In boys’ 10-11 years 100m freestyle, Sabbah Leonato from Aga Khan Academy, won in a time of 1.14.05, while his schoolmate Joshua Masakha clocked 1.15.29 to finish second.

Sheikh Mohammed of Oshwal Academy, Nyali was third in a time of 1.18.77.

In boys’ 12-13 years 100m freestyle, Aryen Muravej of Aga Khan Academy clocked 1.04.31 for the top spot, while Twalib Hamza of Coast Swim Club clocked 1.06.79 in second spot.

Hotep Mutinda of Aga Khan Academy finished third in 1.12.66.

Swimmers from Bandari Swim Club also had a field day after winning in several races.

In girls’ 10-11 years 100m freestyle, Bandari’s Duini Caffini won in 1.15.90, Zikra Jaffer of Blue Ocean was second in a time of 1.19.07, while and Oshwal Academy’s Natasha Thuranira clocked 1.22.17 to finish third.

In girls’ 14-15 years 100m freestyle, Tiana Vora of Mombasa Aquatics clocked 1.08.02 to emerge the winner.

Saloni Patel and Hilda Wambua, both from Aga Khan Academy, clocked 1.23.44 and 1.27.75 to finish second and third respectively.

Bandari also shone in boys’ 14-15m freestyle with Khandwalla Mohammed clocking 1.00.47 seconds for victory.
