So far Arsenal’s season has gone exactly how every Gunners fan imagined. But it's the festive period - a great time to reflect on the positives of 2017, and look ahead at everything 2018 has to offer... here's five things every Arsenal fan wants for Christmas.

1. Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil to sign new deals

An obvious place to start, but we think that every Arsenal fans' Christmas will be a lot more enjoyable if these two put pen to paper on new contracts.

Of course, having the pair of them declare their love for the Gunners and sign on for another few seasons would be the preferred solution.

2. Alexandre Lacazette to get 90 minutes

It's become a bit of a running joke now that Arsenal's £52million summer signing just cannot get a full 90 minutes for love nor money.

Wenger claims it's because he wants to keep the striker fresh, but it seems fans - and Lacazette for that matter - are growing a little tired with the excuse.

3. Thomas Lemar to join in January

Keeping hold of Sanchez and Ozil would make Christmas pretty special for Arsenal fans, but there is something else that could send them over the edge.

Thomas Lemar was linked with the club over the summer, but the Gunners failed to secure his signature as the transfer window slammed shut.

But imagine all three of them in the same team... it's not even worth thinking about.

4. Manchester City to lose a game

There are a number of reasons why everyone - not just Arsenal fans - want to see Manchester City lose a game this season.

It would also help make the Premier League more competitive, and give the chasing pack some glimmer of hope going into the latter half of the season.

5. Jack Wilshere to finally fulfil his potential

It's the dream of every Arsenal fan - especially all those who saw him boss a Barcelona midfield as a mere teenager all those years ago.
