League leaders Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST RFC) will look to extend their perfect start to the 2024/25 KRU Championship season when they clash with Mombasa SC at the Mombasa Sports Club on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM.

MMUST sit atop the standings with 15 points from three matches, boasting an impressive point difference of 105.

Head coach John Asila credits the team's stellar performance to discipline, hard work, and squad depth.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Asila said, "Our success so far has been built on solid defensive structures and teamwork. The boys are hungry for more success, and we aim to keep the momentum. Mombasa SC is a strong side at home, so we must be at our best to secure a win."

MMUST's matchday squad reflects their intention to maintain dominance. The forward pack features the formidable front row of Javan Orlando, Ishmael Karanja, and co-captain Collins Ngoko, supported by Ryan Makaka and Churchil Oyugi in the second row. The back row comprises blindside flanker Brian Ndeda, openside flanker Saidi Osieko, and eight-man Joshua Sudi.

In the backline, co-captain Veron Kaburu and fly-half Washington Ombima form the half-back pairing, while Ian Oduor and Hope Clarence anchor the midfield. The wings are manned by Bivon Okoth and Martin Masika, with Byron Ogada providing stability at fullback. Key impact players on the bench include Fidel Simba, Alvin Maulo, and Nygel Obari.

Saturday's action-packed KRU Championship lineup also features exciting clashes elsewhere. Western Bulls host TUM Marines at the Bull Ring, while JKUAT Cougars welcome Daystar Falcons to Juja.

Homeboyz RFC, another title contender, travel to the University of Eldoret Grounds to face UoE Trojans. USIU-A Martials take on CUEA Monks, while Mean Machine face Zetech Oaks at the University of Nairobi Grounds.

Asila's charges are determined to prove why they are favorites for promotion, but Mombasa SC will look to leverage home advantage and disrupt MMUST's march.
