Kenya Lionesses head Coach Denis Mwanja has named his squad that will be heading to Ghana for the 2024 Rugby Africa Women's 7s tournament scheduled to take place on November 9th and 10th.

The Lionesses have had two squads training since September ahead of the Safari Sevens tournament where they had two full squads: Kenya Lionesses and Kenya Cubs.

From the Kenya Lionesses Safari 7s squad, Faith Livoi stood out both in on-pitch performance and in character which has seen her earn her first call-up in the international sevens competition as the Ladies head to Accra on November 7th.

Faith has previously represented the Kenya Lionesses in the 15s code of the game during the 2023 and 2024 Rugby Africa Cup tournaments both held in Madagascar.

Faith was also part of the Lionesses squad that went to Dubai in October 2023 for the WXV3 tournament.

Speaking to Faith after the team naming, she was honored to make the traveling squad, "It was a pleasant surprise to receive my first sevens call up. I will work hard and ensure I play smart so that our team gets to the final, which is over overall goal," said Faith.

Over and above Faith's inclusion in the squad, the Lionesses see the return of 4 mercurial players who missed out during Safari 7s. They are: Grace Adhiambo, Christabel Lindo, Stellah Wafula and Judith Auma.

The team that will be captained by Sheila Chajira is as follows: Grace Adhiambo(Nakuru RFC), Christabel Lindo(Impala Roans), Stellah Wafula (Impala Roans), Judith Auma(Impala Roans), Faith Livoi(Mwamba RFC), Diana Awino(Impala Roans), Moreen Muritu(Nakuru RFC), Sinaida Mokaya, Diana Kemunto(Impala Roans), Sharon Auma(Impala Roans), Freshia Awuor (Nakuru RFC).

The Lionesses are in Pool B alongside hosts Ghana, Mauritius and Madagascar.
