The Kakamega County Secondary Schools are gearing up for an electrifying championship.

The spotlight is expected to shine brightly on the rugby field as Kakamega High School and Koyonzo Secondary School prepare to renew their intense rivalry.

This year's games, which begin today, will be held in Lugari Sub-county, marking its debut as the venue for this prestigious event.

The games will be hosted across various venues, including the National Youth Service and Lumakanda Township.

Kakamega High School's rugby team, under the experience guidance of head coach Amos Wamanga, is entering the tournament with a clear mission: to overcome the formidable challenge posed by Koyonzo Secondary School, which has proven to be a tough competitor in past years.

Rugby enthusiasts will be keenly watching the Group D matches, where Kakamega will face off against Malava and Koyonzo, setting stage for some of the most anticipated matches of the championship.

In basketball, the boys' teams will see Koyonzo, Lumakanda, Lubinu, and Butere battle it out in Group A, while the girls' category has Eregi, Mukumu, Butere, and Mlimani in Group A.

In hockey, Butere, ABN, Namirama, and Mukumu will compete in Group A, while boys' hockey includes Kivaywa, Butere, and Mukumu in Group A.
