Kenya Cup: Menengai Oilers stun KCB in Nakuru

Menengai Oilers ended KCB Rugby's nine-match unbeaten run after withstanding a tough challenge to shock the visitors 21-7 in a penultimate Kenya Cup match played at the Nakuru Showgrounds on Saturday.
Former Masinde Muliro University star Jadah Abdon opened the scoring for Oilers with a try nside seven minutes of play, Abutwalib Wesonga adding the extras to give Oilers a 7-0 lead.
KCB's Lionel Ajeliti broke away from the Oilers defense to score a beautiful try, he converted to bring his side level on 7-7 before captain Griffin Musila was sin binned for a high tackle on his opponent.
Ajeliti missed a glorious opportunity to put his side on the lead after missing a penalty kick before Abutwalib Wesonga converted his penalty kick to hand the Oilers a slim 10-7 lead going into the break.
In the second half of the game, Wesonga stretched the Nakuru based-side lead to 13-7 after a successful conversion. On the KCB side, Ajeliti missed another penalty. Wesonga added three more points to the Oilers with a drop kick to make it 16-7.
