KCB Rugby will be seeking to win their 10th Impala Floodlight title on Saturday evening when they face off against record Kenya Cup champions Nondescripts at Impala Grounds.

The bankers who will be playing in their ninth consecutive finals will be praying not to repeat their 2016 mistakes that saw Nondies pip them 33-32 to win.

KCB booked their slot in the finals by dismantling their nemesis, Menengai Oilers, 41-21 in the semifinals last weekend.

Coach Curtis Olago said he was happy with his teams show of might an expects nothing less in the finals.

"I couldn't be prouder of the boys today. They showed incredible resilience, teamwork, and determination on the field, and that's what rugby is all about.

"We've always worked hard to reach this point, and it's a true testament to the dedication and skill of our players. We look forward to the finals enthusiastically and will continue to give it our all," said Olago.

Both teams have been using the tournament as a preseason ahead of the 2023-2024 Kenya Cup season beginning later next month.

While the Bankers have won the Floodies nine times, Nondies have only won the cup thrice including the inaugural tourney in 1983.
