Debutant Patrick Odongo, John Okoth, and captain Vincent Onyala all scored a brace as Kenya Sevens thrashed Namibia 50-0 to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Rugby Africa Sevens with a game to spare on Sunday afternoon at Harare Sorts Club in Zimbabwe.

Shujaa who are also chasing a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics with the two-day tournament acting as a qualifier started the day on the front foot after hammering Nigeria 34-10 in their opening Group B match played in the morning.

Daystar University Falcons flyer Patrick Odongo got off his debut to a perfect start after giving Shujaa a 7-0 lead inside the opening minute, a try that was converted by Tony Omondi.

Shujaa captain Vincent Onyala got onto the score sheet to extend Kenya's lead to 12-0 before Kevin Wekesa made it 17-0 with another unconverted try.

Onyala gave Kenya a healthy 24-0 halftime break after racing to cross over in the stroke of halftime.

In the final half, Menengai Oilers star John Okoth opened his account in Harare by extending Shujaa's lead to 31-0 before Wekesa showed his physical power by turning defense into attack, racing to the try line and playing in Odongo for his brace as Kenya led 38-0.

Okoth would also bag his brace after selling a dummy to the Namibian defense to touch down between the posts for a 45-0.

George Ooro sealed the win with a late unconverted try.

Kenya will play Zambia next from 4.34pm Kenyan time.
