Kabras Sugar determined to clinch overall circuit title

Kabras Sugar RFC aims to win the Christie Sevens this weekend to remain favourites for the National Sevens Circuit title ahead of the Tisap Sevens in Eldoret on September 2-3.
Kabras Sugar head coach Felix Ayange said this time the series were competitive compared to the previous years as no team is ready to lose a match and therefore every point in each tournament counts.
"By winning the Christie Sevens, it makes our work easier in the subsequent series of the tournament. Therefore, we are working on every aspect of the team to ensure our strategies goes as planned," Ayange told Standard Sports at Nakuru Athletic Club after winning the Prinsloo Sevens title.
Kabras Sugar defeated Kenya Harlequins 10-5 to lift the Prinsloo Sevens title.
Former champions KCB saw off series defending champions Menengai Oilers 22-12 in the third place play-offs.

As a result, Kabras Sugar received Sh100,000 in prize money while Harlequins and KCB pocketed Sh50,000 and Sh25,000 respectively from title sponsors Sportpesa.
Kabras Sugar are leading the circuit table standings with a total of 63 points ahead of KCB (56), Menengai Oilers (46) and Kenya Harlequins (46).
Kabras Sugar scooped maximum 22 points in Nakuru and at Driftwood Sevens in Mombasa but lost in the finals of Dala Sevens in Kisumu.
Kenya Harlequins reaped 19 points as the Prinsloo losing finalists but coach Paul Murunga said he was happy to have reached those stages.
"The match was tough but the dynamics of the series is tricky and any team can win any of the series with three more series to go," Murunga said in a post-match interview.
KCB won the opening series of the event-Dala Sevens before Kabras Sugar clinched both the Driftwood and Prinsloo Sevens.
So far, the top five teams in the series still have a realistic chance of lifting the title.
In the ladies category, Impala claimed the Prinsloo Sevens Women Championships and consequently pocketed Sh70,000 while Mwamba received Sh30,000 after emerging runners up.
