St Mary's Yala are the 2023 Siaya County Secondary Schools rugby 15s champions.

Yala retained their title they won in 2019 after thumping Ambira High School 43-0 in a one-sided final played on Saturday.

Speaking after their victory, Yala head coach Kenneth Mukok said he is preparing to conquer the regionals.

"The boys have improved since they first played against Bondo Township on the opening day on Thursday. I am pleased we retained the title because we have had intense training and preparations.

"Our focus shifts to the regionals now. It is going to be tough but we are ready," said Mukok.

In Kisumu, Maseno School saw off Nyabondo Secondary 12-8 to retain their crown at Chemelil Academy.

Maseno knocked out Otieno Oyoo 31-3 in the semifinals on their route to the finals as Nyabondo defeated Onjiko 5-0.

Onjiko would finish third after a 19-3 win over Otieno Oyoo in the third-place playoffs.

Kisii School on the other hand reigned supreme in Kisii County.
