Kisumu RFC have been promoted to the Kenya Cup after qualifying for the finals of the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) Championship on Saturday.

The Lake Region based outfit knocked out Daystar University Falcons 19-7 in the semifinals played at Strathmore University Grounds to return to the top-flight league after two-years out in the cold.

17-time Kenya Cup champions Nondescripts who saw off South Coast Pirates 39-10 in the second semis to qualify for the finals will join Kisumu in the Kenya Cup next season.

According to KRU, the two teams that reach the KRU Championship final playoffs qualify automatically to the Kenya Cup.

Steve Odhiambo bagged a brace as Collins Odiwuor, Joseph Musyoka, Tony Fidens, Charles Omondi and Victor Rogena also crossed the white wash in the win.

Nondies and Kisumu will now replace MMUST and Mean Machine who were relegated from Kenya Cup.
