Strathmore Leos saw off Catholic Monks 32-15 as Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology's poor run continued after losing 21-11 at home to Kenya Harlequin.
In Kakamega, MMUST assistant coach John Asila said they have to pick themselves up after losing their sixth straight match of the season in their defeat to Quins.
"It is not yet over for us. Many people are saying we are headed to the championship but all we need is just three wins to be safe. That has to come in our remaining matches," said Asila.
"Things have been not going well for us in terms of taking our opportunities and defensive work but I still trust the boys to pull up their socks. The goal now shifts to avoid being relegated to the KRU Championship."
