Impressive Menengai Oilers lead Kenya Cup after two rounds

Last season's runners up Menengai Oilers are top of the 2022-2023 Kenya Cup standings after two rounds.

The Nakuru-based outfit are unbeaten after two rounds where they have edged out University of Nairobi's Mean Machine and Kenya Harlequin.

Oilers claimed their second successive bonus point victory, beating hosts Quins 24-10 at the RFUEA ground.

They had opened their season with an impressive 72-6 victory against Mean Machine.
Champions Kabras Sugar and KCB also remained unbeaten as they registered identical 41-0 victories to stay second and third respectively in the log with bankers having not conceded any point.

The Oilers top with 10 points, edging out KCB and Kabras, who have similar points but inferior aggregate. Oilers have 80 points, KCB on 79 points and Kabras close in on 68 points.

Blak Blak and Homeboyz are in fourth and fifth positions respectively with nine points each.
Blak Blad claimed a 28-9 victory against visiting Catholic Monks, a week after chalking a bonus point victory against Nakuru 34-8 while Homeboyz beat Strathmore University Leos 22-16.

Mwamba and Strathmore Leos are sixth and seventh on five points each.

Top Fry Nakuru, Kenya Harlequin, Catholic Monks and Mean Machine remain winless after the second round of matches.
