It's a sight to behold as Kabras Sugar warm up for Kenya Cup in style

Kabras Sugar and KCB Rugby clubs showed signs of what to expect in the new 2022-2023 Kenya Cup season after registering victories in the local build-up final matches played in Kakamega and Nairobi over the weekend.
With the new season only 12 days away from kick off, many top flight teams have been busy with pre-season matches with the Impala Floodlight and inaugural Victoria Cup standing out from the rest.
The Victoria Cup featured teams from the Rift Valley, Nyanza and Western regions while Floodlight attracted teams from Nairobi and Central Kenya.
At the Kakamega Showground, defending Kenya Cup champions Kabras Sugar held off a resilient Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST RFC) 17-13 to win the Victoria Cup.
David Williams, Barry Robinson and Alfred Orege crossed over the white wash for the millers as Nelson Babu and Lameck Ambetsa grabbed consolation tries for the university students.

The win comes in handy for Kabras who will be the team to beat in the new season and assistant coach Edwin Achayo is happy they will be starting on the back of a win.
"It was a tough match for us. MMUST have really improved as a unit because we could not score more tries. Defensively, their tactics are working but am proud that our team did well," said Achayo.
"It is going to be another tough season for us as every club will want a piece of the champions but we are ready. Some of our players are out on international duty but we are ready. The players available are working hard and we believe we have the manpower to start with a win."
In Nairobi, KCB picked their ninth Impala Floodlight title after seeing off Nondescript 20-3 in the final staged at the Impala Club at night.
Oscar Sarano and veteran Andrew Amonde had a try each off the mauls as Isaac Njoroge and Levy Amunga converted respectively. Njoroge added two penalties.
Salem Benson slotted over Nondies penalty as they missed three penalties and two-drop goals.
The victory saw KCB equal University of Nairobi's record of nine victories at Impala Floodlit.
KCB aim at recapturing Kenya Cup and Enterprise Cup titles they lost to Kabras Sugar.
