Kenya Sevens will kick of their Singapore Sevens campaign on Saturday morning with a clash against the USA at 7:12 am East African Time (EAT).

Shujaa are in Group A in the Singapore Sevens where they will face off against World Sevens Series leaders South Africa who are on a 34-match winning run, USA and Canada.

Innocent Simiyu’s charges will then face off their African counterparts, South Africa at 10: 40 am.

The final match of the Pool will see Shujaa square it out with the hosts Canada at 2:05 pm.

The World Sevens Series returns this weekend after two months break with the Singapore Sevens which is slated for the National Stadium in Singapore.

At-least 45 matches are lined-up with New Zealand, Samoa set for the maiden appearance since 2020 while Fiji are also back in the mix.

The Singapore leg is the fifth of nine tournaments in the men’s HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series 2022, which started with two events in Dubai in November and December 2021. South Africa has dominated the 2022 season thus far, winning the first four events of the series.

Singapore is special for Shujaa since it is the only leg which Kenya has won in the history of World Sevens Rugby.

In 2016, Shujaa legend Collins Injera scored two tries as Kenya thumped Fiji 30-7 to lift a first ever Cup title.

Kenya are eighth in the World Seven Series rankings with 31 points after the double Dubai legs, Malaga leg and Seville leg.
