Kenya’s oldest rugby club Nondescripts has been relegated from Kenya Cup after finishing bottom of the 2021-2022 season which ended on Saturday.

The record Kenya Cup champions lost Homeboyz 13-7 and despite picking a losing bonus, it was not enough to keep them up as they finished the season on 16 points.

This is the first time in the history of the club that they have been relegated since its formation in 1923.Nondies have the most titles and won the first edition in 1975.

Nondies had won three and lost seven going to the final match day and needed a win over the Deejays to stay up.

Nondies' three wins were against Strathmore Leos on match day four and back to back wins over Impala and Mwamba in the last two weeks.

At the same time, eight time champions Kenya Harlequin will join Nondies in the KRU Championship next season.

Quins lost 24-8 to Mwamba to finish 11th on the log with 17 points same as Impala but with an inferior goal difference of negative 69 points.

Impala had a big 44-13 win over Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology to move level with Kenya Harlequin on 17 points. Impala has a better goal difference as they survive the drop.

At the same time, Top Fry Nakuru beat Menengai Oilers 13-8 in the Nakuru Derby to confirm their survival.

A late penalty by Fredrick Odongo and a drop ball by Samuel Mwaura was enough for Nakuru to surge past Oilers who have already confirmed semifinal playoff spot.
