Resolution Impala Saracens winger Quinto Ongo holds a one-point lead atop the Kenya Cup points scorers chart heading into match day nine fixtures scheduled for Saturday.

Ongo has 55 points coming off 1 try, 12 penalties and 7 conversions.

This is despite the clubs poor form in the 2021-2022 Kenya Cup season which has seen them win only two matches and lose six as the league enters a penultimate stage.

The results have left Impala fighting to avoid relegation as they remain 11th in the log with 10 points with three games remaining till the end of the regular season.

Ongo is closely followed by KCB and Kenya utility back Darwin Mukidza who is on 54 points, having managed 2 tries, 2 penalties and 19 conversions.

Kabras Sugar’s Ntabeni Dukisa and Mwamba’s Brian Kivasia are joint third on 51 points.

Dukisa, who took home the top points scorer award last season, has managed 1 try, 2 penalties and 20 conversions while Kivasia is on 3 tries, 6 penalties and 9 conversions.

Menengai Oilers captain Chrispine Shitundo and Kabras Sugar’s Jone Kubu are tied top of the try scoring statistics, each having managed 5 touchdowns and they are followed by the quintet of Vincent Onyala, Isaac Njoroge (KCB), Beldad Ogeta, Tyson Maina ( Menengai Oilers) and Archadius Khwesa ( Blak Blad) who have all managed 4 tries this season.

KRU CHAMPIONSHIP
Samuel Omolo from the Catholic Monks lead the points scorers in the second tier KRU Championship with 51 points.

Omolo has managed 13 penalties and 6 conversions and is 23 points clear of second placed Timothy Lugalia from league debutants Shamas.

Lugalia has managed 4 tries, 2 penalties and 1 conversion and is also joint top of the Championship try scorers alongside Mean Machine’s Adam Mugo who has also landed 4 tries in the campaign thus far.
