Bottom placed Kisumu Rugby will be seeking to register their first win of the campaign when host University of Eldoret on Saturday as the KRU Championship enters match day three.

Kisumu has endured a difficult start to the second tier rugby league after losing their opening two matches of the season as they attempt to earn promotion back to the Kenya Cup.

Kabarak University and Shamas meet in the day’s early kickoff at Kabarak in a match that serves as a repeat of the KRU Nationwide final close to a month ago. Shamas won that game at the RFUEA Ground 39-8 to be crowned third division champions.

The two newly promoted sides are experiencing contrasting fortunes in the league, Kabarak placed second from bottom, having lost their two outings to date while Shamas are enjoying a purple patch, topping the league with two wins from two.

Second placed Catholic Monks play away to Western Bulls.  Three time Kenya Cup champions Mean Machine are at home to Eldoret while Northern Suburbs and South Coast Pirates face off in Lang’ata.

The match between Egerton Wasps and USIU Martials has been postponed.
