Nakuru RFC coach Oloo promises to deliver

Although Nakuru RFC lost 31-3 to fancied Kabras Sugar in their second Kenya Cup League match at Nakuru Athletic Club over the weekend, head coach Felix Oloo commended his boys for a job well-done in pursuit for top honours.
Oloo said his boys defended well in the offence and defence in both halves against a tough and refined side that had experienced and professionals from within and outside the country.
“Despite the loss, my boys did their best in this game, which was tough from the first to the final whistle. It is commendable they reduced the losing margin against one of the top rugby sides in Kenya today,” Oloo said in a post-match interview at Nakuru Athletic Club.
He said when rebuilding a young team, there are painful processes such a side has to undergo before it starts to yield positive results in reference to the departure of their key players.
“When having fresh players from high schools and different clubs, it takes time to build them to maturity before coming up with a winning outfit,” he said.

At the beginning of the season, Nakuru RFC recruited several schoolboys, while others joined the side from different clubs.
The new inclusions include Homeboyz duo of winger John Ochar and prop John Daniels as well as Western Bulls’ hooker Bradford Khalusu and lock Robert Awich.
Others are Bungoma High School prop Emmanuel Wabwile and Egerton University duo of lock Maurice Acholla and fullback Leon Nyang’.
Against Kabras Sugar, Oloo said he was happy with the performance of Rogers Audi, Maurice Acholla and 19-year-old Boniface Otieno.
The coach said they might lose some of the forthcoming league matches, but he was more interested with the performance of the playing unit in each match.
“Analysis of performance of each player in each match is what will lead us to start achieving positive results after we are through with the rebuilding process,” said the tactician, who is also the head of the national Sevens women side – Kenya Lionesses.
Oloo predicted the boys might do better in their third game against league champions KCB.
