Kenya to play Germany in Edmonton 7s Quarterfinals

Kenya national rugby seven’s team Shujaa face Germany in the Edmonton Sevens main cup quarter-finals on Sunday at 7.04 pm East African Time.
The Innocent Simiyu coached side stormed to the quarters after finish second in Pool B rankings behind leaders United States of America.
Kenya defeated Spain and Chile before falling to USA in their last pool match.
Shujaa thrashed Chile 38-5 before holding off a resilient Spanish side to win 26-12.
Kenya lost 19-14 to the USA in their final pool match.

If Kenya knocks out the Germans, Shujaa might set up a repeat of the Vancouver Sevens final against South Africa in the semis. This is however if the Blitzboks will defeat Hong Kong.
The US will face Great Britain with Ireland taking on Canada in the other quarter-final matches.
The Series title will be awarded in Edmonton where the team with the most points after the Edmonton Sevens will be crowned 2021 champion.
Core sides Fiji, New Zealand, Argentina, Australia, Samoa, and France are will miss this event.
Given the unique circumstances of the pandemic, there will be no relegation from the 2021 Series and the results will not contribute towards seeding for any other future events.
The 2021-2022 World series will kick off in Dubai on November 26.
