Strathmore Leos and MMUST RFC are calling on Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) to urgently come up with a solution after their scheduled Kenya Cup League fixture was postponed on the eve of the game without prior communication.
MMUST and Leos were set to play at Nandi Bears Club, Nandi County today as per the fixtures released on Thursday but the match was cancelled without ‘valid’ reasons yesterday morning.
Leos head coach Louis Kisia said they were already in Kapsabet when they received the second communication from the union which he termed as ‘unfair and illegal’.
“We can’t make it back to Nairobi and play another fixture after travelling all the way to Kapsabet for our match against MMUST. The playoffs are around the corner and someone is trying to fix the game which is unacceptable. The union needs to look into this and find the way forward,” said a disappointed Kisia.
In the new fixtures Strathmore have been scheduled to play Mwamba RFC at the RFUEA Grounds, a confusion KRU Secretary General Ian Mugambi said they will deliberate and give way forward.

“It is true we had released fixtures pitting MMUST and Leos but there was a very late change. For now we have nothing to say but we will give way forward,” said Mugambi.
MMUST and Strathmore managements have said they will honor the earlier released fixture.
