Kabras Sugar on Saturday thrashed Kenyatta University side, Blak Blad, 47-8 in a one-sided Kenya Cup action played at the RFUEA Grounds in Nairobi.
The sugar millers headed into the match without their nine regular starting players who are with the national 15s side Kenya Simbas ahead of Sunday’s Rugby Africa Cup tie against Zambia.
Kabras showed no rustiness in the game despite playing for the first time since March as stand-in captain Felix Ayange crossed over with Ntabeni Dukisa converting for an early 7-0 lead.
Kevin Wekesa doubled the scores to 14-0 after Dukisa’s conversion before Blak Blad would convert a penalty for a 14-3 scoreline.
Hillary Odhiambo scored Kabras third try with Dukisa adding the twos as Dan Angwech and Thomas Simiyu crossed over the whitewash for a 33-3 lead at the break.
