Newbies Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST) RFC will highlight return of the Kenya Cup when they travel to play defending champions KCB on June 12.

Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) released new return to play fixtures that will feature three matches played since President Uhuru Kenyatta's announcement on March 26 suspending sporting activities in the country.

In the new fixtures, MMUST will face KCB in Nairobi with the students’ assistant coach John Asila saying they will be ready for the games.

Speaking to The Standard Sports, Asila said they have been training hard for the past two months and the players are hungry to get back to the field.

“Finally we are back at it again. The players have been itching to get back to doing what they love and we can’t wait,” Asila said.

Last year’s Kenya Cup runners up Kabras Sugar will welcome Kenyatta University’s Blak Blad at the Kakamega Showground with an eye set on extending their lead in the standings. Kabras lead the log with 15 points.

“This period shall run from May 26, 2021, to June 4, 2021. Players or clubs seeking a temporary (loan) transfer to/from other clubs may utilise this window to effect the said transfers.”

“The regulations affecting loan players (regulation 14.8 and others) will be in effect and clubs are asked to adhere to the same,” read a letter by Kenya Rugby Union’s acting C.E.O Thomas Odundo.
