Injera back as Kenya 7s hit camp ahead of South Africa 7s

Kenya Sevens received a major boost on Wednesday after Collins Injera returned to the squad that reported to a two-week camp at Kasarani ahead of the South Africa invitational sevens tournament.

Injera, arguably Kenya’s best player ever, is back in the 21-man squad after missing out in the last two tournaments played in Madrid and Dubai respectively.

The camp organized by National Olympics Committee- Kenya, will see Shujaa head to South Africa for the Rugby Africa Men 7s solidarity camp in Stellenbosch 

Joining Injera is Dennis Ombachi and Daniel Sikuta who also make returns to the national side after missing the two invitational legs played in February and March.

Alvin Marube, Mark Kwemoi, Levi Amunga and Herman Humwa are also part of the 21-man list which sees Willy Ambaka, Andrew Amonde and Jacob Ojee among the players that retain their spot in the team.

Hosts South Africa, Zimbabwe and Uganda are part of the teams expected to be part of The Stellenbosch Academy of Sport for the training camp.

The camp is aimed at assisting teams that have already qualified for the Olympics and Olympics Repechage get ready.
