The Kenya sevens rugby team beat Fiji by 30 points against 7 to clinch a maiden cup final trophy at the Singapore sevens.

Oscar Ayodi opened the scoring with a 30 metre dash and Injera Collins added a double to make it 15-0. Samuel Oliech’s try further extended Kenyas’ lead by 20 points.

Fiji’s Jerry Tuwai scored 5 points after a counter attack and the resulting conversion added 2 points. However, two tries made it 30 against 7 to help Kenya make history.
