Kenya cup best four face off in May: Nakuru contend with Strathmore as KCB tackle Quins in chase for top honours

The semi-final matches of the Kenya Cup will be held on May 10 with various top sides out for positive results.

After the completion of the league phase, defending champions Top Fry finished their matches at the top of the standings on amassing a whopping 54 points.

The Nakuru-based club won 12 matches and lost only once in their 13 outings. They will take on Strathmore University in the semi-finals at home.

Top Fry will go into the match highly motivated considering that they beat Strathmore 24-11 the last time the two sides met  at the weekend.

Finishing second were former champions Lunch Bar Quins who garnered 53 points in a tight race. KCB who finished third also had 53 points.

The two will meet in the final to be hosted by Quins.

In the Eric Shirley shield, a second string KCB side finished on a positive note after thrashing Blak Blad 39-6 away to collect 59 points from 12 wins and only one loss.

The bankers will take on Mwamba 11 at home in the semi-final. Nakuru 11 were second here on 57 points after a last day narrow win against Strathmore 11 (19-17).

They have a date with Catalus in Nakuru in the semi-finals to be played in May. In the nationwide league, Kabras Sugar are through to the semi-finals after edging out Central Kenya representatives Thika 61-0.

They will be joined in the last four by Kakamega, Catholic and Technical universities of Kenya.

Kenya Cup was held for the first time in 1970, and was won by Impala. Nakuru are the current champions after
