Shujaa living legend Humphrey Kayange has been drafted into World Anti-Doping Agency’s Executive as a member.

This becomes the latest accolade to Kayange who is also an IOC and NOC-K Athletes’ Commission member.

He also sits in the NOC-K Executive as the Athletes Representative.

The Mwamba legend was also last year inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame

The World Anti-Doping Agency (Wada) Executive Committee has got another sheriff member.

Former Kenya Sevens captain Humphrey Kayange has been appointed to the committee on Friday, June 3 on a three-year term commencing June 1.

Confirming this, Wada president Witold Banka said Kayange, who is a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Athletes’ Commission, will be joining the executive as a member.

In a letter to Kayange on Friday to the man who doubles as an Athletes Representative at the Nationals National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOC-K), Banka said he is looking forward to working with Kayange to further Wada's goals, especially in the continent.

“I look forward to working with you in your capacity as our member, and of course in your continued role as a Foundation Board member as well," said Banka.

The appointment came following Wada Executive Committee and Foundation Board meeting in Cairo on May 18-19 this year.

On his part, NOC-K president Paul Tergat, welcomed Kayange's new role saying the move is a true indication that athletes can go far if empowered.

"We celebrate the gains made so far by the sevens rugby legend," said Tergat.
