Morans, Shujaa name their Safari 7s squads

Kenyan representative sides Shujaa, Morans and Chipu have announced their squads for the 2021 Safari Sevens which kicks off on Saturday at the Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi.

Defending champions Morans have Augustine Lugonzo and Derrick Mayar who have both featured for Kenya on the Sevens World Series.

Shujaa will be captained by Herman Humwa who leads a host of Kenya Sevens players including Bush Mwale, Alvin Otieno, Johnstone Olindi, Levy Amunga, Alvin Marube and Timothy Mmasi while the third side, Chipu 7s have included Gabriel Ayimba, son of fallen Kenya Sevens legend Benjamin Ayimba in their squad.

The tournament will feature 12 teams and they have been grouped in pools of four teams in each Pool. Shujaa are in Pool A where they have dates against Zimbabwe Cheetahs, Germany and Nigeria Stallions sevens.

The top two sides from each pool as well as the best two third-placed finishers will advance to the Cup quarter-finals on Sunday as they seek to lay their hands on the overall title.
