Shujaa hopeful of Main Cup Quarter final spot

Kenya rugby 7’s side Shujaa will head to South Africa to perfect their trade after the postponement of Hong Kong and Singapore series to October.
The series were postponed after the Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak in Chinese city of Wuhan that was discovered in December last year.
With more than 30 days left to the Paris and London series, Shujaa head coach Paul Feeney is confident the team will be able to straighten their rough edges before the start of the series.
“One and a half months is a long period and we need to keep the boys active and sharp before we head for the final two legs in France and England in May," said Feeney.
The New Zealand born coach will seek to redeem his performance with the national team after a dismal performance last month in Sydney Australia.

Shujaa managed to collect a point after losing matches against Fiji, Wales and New Zealand a performance that put the national side at 11th position overall with 26 point.
The manager is now hopeful that with the long period to train for the next outing, his side can at least reach the quarter-finals of the competition.
“We are hoping to get to the quarterfinals in both events. We did not have a good outing in Australia last month so it's important that we get back to winning ways in the North American leg,” said Feeney.
Shujaa’s target is achievable after the world rugby reinstated their old format where the top two teams in a group will qualify for the main cup quarterfinals and the bottom two in the group will drop to the challenge trophy.
Kenya will face South Africa, Ireland and Canada in the Los Angeles series this weekend and the coach will use the remaining competition to name his 13member squad that will represent Kenya in the Olympics on July.
"The players are determined and hungry and we will give them a chance to prove their worth with the four remaining tournaments before we select the final squad,” Feeney concluded.
