Western Bulls, Kisumu RFC relegated from Kenya Cup

Western Bulls and Kisumu RFC were relegated from the Kenya Cup on Saturday after losing to Homeboyz and Kenyatta University side Blak Blad respectively.

Western Bulls lost 56-6 to Homeboyz at the Bull Ring in Kakamega as Kisumu RFC were thrashed 38-5 by Blak Blad at Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu.

In Kakamega, Zeden Marrow and Collins Shikoli scored a brace with Stanley Isogol, Bob Muhati and Michael Wanjala crossing the white wash for Homeboyz for the big win.

The results left both Bulls and Kisumu rooted at the bottom of the Kenya Cup log occupying the 11th and 12th spots with 13 and 11 points respectively with one match to play.

The defeat to the Deejayz left the Echulusi with 13 points, nine points behind 10th placed Nondies with one match to spare meaning even if they win the final fixture of the season they will still be below the safety zone.

Kisumu on the other side have a game in hand against Nondies but a bonus point would not be enough to keep them up.

Last round of matches will see Western Bulls head to Nakuru RFC while Kisumu RFC will visit Impala Saracens in Nairobi.

Both sides earned promotion to the 2019-2020 Kenya Cup season after a stellar season in the championship but after a disastrous 15-weeks Kenya Cup show where they won four matches combined, Bulls and Kisumu are set to prepare themselves for another championship season next year.
